Here at GFM we would expect nothing the high quality musical output from one of Detroit’s finest musicians Brandon Williams. A few years back we became instant fans of Brandons work on his project XII and his latest release “Dont Give Up” that features (first class all the way all the time musician) Eric Roberson from his forthcoming new project #TheLoveFactor posits the feeling of joy and optimism front and center.
This is truly music for lovers of music, not just a vibe or intent but well-crafted songwriting and production played by accompanists who understand the power of the twelve notes and where their parts fit in the puzzle.
It is my hope that those of you who are not familiar with the caliber of work that both Brandon Williams and Eric Roberson have brought to the fore will do yourself (and your ears) a favor and get familiar. Very familiar.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
