Raveena is back with another one for you lovers of great melody, groove and storyline out there. Last month Raveena was taking her “Sweet Time” and this month she’s back with “If Only” which I’m saying falls squarely in line with the slow jam mood that the best slow jam architect to ever do created – Prince.
Why do I make this declaration? Well, did you listen yet? Now even though “If Only” weighs in several clicks faster than true slow jam tempo the vibe is undeniably locked into that side of the game. You see a great slow jam really does lock strong in the groove because that’s the only way it can effectively work – no distractions. Raveena has no fear and no need to get off course once the initial beat drops and she makes her vocal entrance. That’s because “If Only” doesn’t need to rely on any gimmicks because the composition is strong enough that it requires nothing else but to just get down to the get down. So I will say it again as I have said it before… if you are one of these folks who continually come out of their mouth about how they don’t make music like they used to clearly you’ve never heard an artist like Raveena. For the record, great writing and soulful performing will never go out of style.
“If Only” by Raveena out now.
