Press Release for Marlon McClain “Funky Fridays Vol II”
On Friday, August 5th, veteran acclaimed guitarist, songwriter, producer, artist manager, and entrepreneur Marlon McClain will release his new full length project “Funky Fridays Vol. II” which includes 3 collaborations featuring New York based MC and lyricist BD3.. Their 3 collaborations “Aint No Stoppin” and “Get Down” and I Want Your Love have garnered over 600,000 streams and have been on over 500 playlists.
“Funky Friday’s” also contain a couple of energetic jazz funk guitar stompers “ML Funk” featuring Randy Scott on saxophone and “Let;s Go”and Marlon on vocoder. Both would fit comfortably on many funk, soul, dance and uptempo jazz playlists.
There is a subtle but clear theme of positivity and optimism throughout the project especially noted on the previously released singles “It’s a Gift” featuring Nathaniel Star on vocals and “Funkin Cause We Wanna” featuring Marlon on vocals. Both stand out even more in the context of the full album.
This album which combines a seamless fusion of funk, soul, hiphop and uptempo jazz is a perfect mid-summer release. This is a feel good project, which is exactly what we all need now.
