Followers of the blog should know about the rave reviews we gave Jean Baylor recently for her work on the Brandon Williams track “Stronger”(as well as we always rep her body of work as one half of Zhané). Well Jean is now working on a new project, the debut CD from her and husband drummer extraordinaire Marcus Baylor who has worked with the likes of Kenny Garrett, Cassandra Wilson, Yellowjackets and many others.
Collectively known as The Baylor Project the debut CD is slated to be a creation in the jazz idiom. Jean and Marcus are offering numerous perks: signature drum sticks, voice lessons, drum lessons, signed CD’s, even an original song written specifically for one special supporter of the project.
In addition to helping to fund the project financially, supporters are encouraged to use their social capital to bring about awareness and other potential supporters. Like we always say around these parts “Tell a friend or two thousand…”
