The eccentric artist, manager, fashion designer and music icon has died in Switzerland at the age of 64. He was best known for his role in pioneering the British punk movement, managing the Sex Pistols and staging incidents to promote social change. Hip hop heads will also remember his work with the World’s Famous Supreme Team and pioneering album, Duck Rock, which spawned the hits “Buffalo Gals”, “Double Dutch” and the “World’s Famous” Anthem. That was my introduction to him and he remains a big part of my formative b-boy years and we celebrate his many contributions to the industry.
