In my opinion it’s great when a blog can post the thoughts of an artist and it’s done in the spirit of “You need to know this…” as a opposed to the salacious, click-bait type of posts that many “blogs” thrive upon. Here at GFM Central we’ve looked at the clock, the calendar on the wall and we’ve also realized that the time has long passed for the mere mention of the mediocre when it comes to music. Practice your craft, daily. Seek to improve in small steps daily. Seek out those who can be honest with you and help you to achieve those goals. That’s who we desire to see and hear out on this road, too much clutter, time to clean up and collectively breathe again as we seek out those truly dedicated to this craft.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
