The commentary(context) for this post is going to be very short and sweet and to the point. We live in a big world that is made much smaller through advances in technology etc., etc., Music that goes from your block, your city, state, country whatever doesn’t just disappear after you’ve heard it, it continues to reverberate somewhere and sometimes if you’re(we’re) lucky it can come back to you in a form you hadn’t expected and you’re quickly reminded of an old friend when you meet this new friend.
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
