GFM Los Angeles fam! We wanted to put you up on a fantastic event that will be happening on June 18th. Six time Grammy nominated songwriter/producer/artist/author/filmmaker Kashif will be presenting a very special evening of music with friends: Howard Hewett, Melba Moore, Howard Johnson, Dawnn Lewis, Siedah Garrett, Tommy Davidson, Greg Phillinganes and other surprise guests. The event will be hosted by Pat Prescott of 94.7 The Wave.
The event will take place at Sam Ash 7360 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. This special evening will serve as the kickoff to the Indiegogo crowdsourced fundraising campaign for the landmark ten part documentary series “The History of R&B Music” that is being produced by Kashif. The event is free and limited seating is available so make sure you get there early. The doors will open at 6:30pm.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
