#Growns we have some of that new, new for you today from across the pond courtesy of the MMNT and EM1X. The MMNT are an independent up and coming group from North London, who have combined with long-time friend, talented producer known as EM1X to bring their joint EP Room 5 to life.
Room 5 features some really good acoustic guitar work, hard hitting rim shots with the occasional trap influenced hi hat work. If vocal interplay is your thing you will definitely find it on Room 5 where you will be treated to resonant bass baritone frequencies all the way to the high tenor range. Speaking of the aforementioned guitar work, it is reminiscent of some of the work on classic ATL R&B production which is always welcomed here.
Room 5 also features some great saxophone work on “Summer Nights” which includes a chord progression steeped in 1990’s goodness. A real standout track is the set’s closer: “Billboard”. With a catchy hook, song arrangement and bespoke instrumentation, “Billboard” captures the essence of the overall vibe of Room 5 to the ears of this listener.
