This is how it all began for me… this album contains the first recognizable sound that I attribute as my first recollection of music. That sound. The sound. That’s what it is and was that attracted me to music. Not what I see, but what I hear. Not that the visual doesn’t play a part, but it should never supersede the sound. So let’s take a listen to this classic together. Close your eyes and let the music take you away to somewhere nice for a few minutes.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
