I wanted to share an excerpt of this great interview with Robert Glasper from last October that I ran across last evening. Please check out this clip and follow it on over to you tube to check out more from this interview and others in the series from .
What rings so true now is how Robert explains that because of the corporate stranglehold and in many ways the inability of the audience to be: 1. Open to new music(because of said stranglehold) and 2. Seek out new methods of finding out about new music away from the, you guessed it, corporate sponsored media outlets… artists aren’t even given an opportunity to “suck” because you cannot effectively comment on something that you don’t even know exists.
To that point Robert has a new project that will be out February 28th entitled Black Radio.
