One of those great artists that you instantly know his sound within two notes. His music was as unapologetic as his persona. He never looked back, constantly pushed the music forward. This narrative is so succinctly summed up in two words: Miles Davis.
His influence across all genres of music should never be underestimated. If Miles Davis is not studied right along side Copland and Stephen Foster in music class he should be… the music of Miles is as American as apple pie. We just wanted to take a little time out today and celebrate the man and his music today all of his music not just the music that people are comfortable with. For you see if you are comfortable, you’re not moving and if you’re not moving well…you’re not Miles.
And yes this was used by Gang Starr for “Manifest” RIP Guru…it’s all connected.
