DJ Polished Solid & The Ricker are joined by Prince Scholars, Zaheer Ali & Harold Pride, to discuss the Prince flood of 1987, exploring the prolificness of Prince’s output in 1987 (Madhouse, Sheila E, Jill Jones, Wendy and Lisa, Taja Sevelle, The Black Album, etc.), the first academic Prince conference, Purple Reign: An interdisciplinary conference on the life and legacy of Prince in Manchester, England from May, Peach + Black: Celebrating 30 years of Prince’s Sign “O” The Times Panel & Screening at NYU from June, and The Revolution tour.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
