A trend that has been growing for a number of years now is the contemporary song cover on you tube. I think it’s a lot of fun to scour the video responses or search results to find the gems (and also some of the not gems… those will have a special place on GFM soon but I digress…) this cover by Antonique Smith is definitely a gem and we are looking forward to bringing you more great contemporary covers like this to the series.
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
