I’m not sure if it can be stated enough that here at GFM the criteria really does boil down to the music and its level of growness(yes I made up a word). On a personal level I don’t care about any particular aesthetic, what I’m looking for most is what’s being said(what’s the story here?) and when you have a cautionary tale like this one from CeeMajorr and Reese Chubbs with a great turn of a phrase you can only do what I’m doing which is to press play, repeat that and share so that others can enjoy as well.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
