Watch out for new SRC Universal/Motown artist, Melanie Fiona. I’m late being introduced to her, but she is dope with a beautiful, sultry voice. Hailing from Toronto to Guyanese parents, her new album, The Bridge, seeks to ‘bridge the gap‘ musically as well as between genders, ethnicities and age groups. I think she’s accomplished this as the cuts I’ve heard so far are as diverse as her background, and not in a contrived/A&R flavor of the month sort of way. It feels genuine and reflects just good music. Check out her EPK below as well as a couple of joints (It Kills Me!) from the album due out in May. Shout out to Qwest Love for the tip.
