Hearing John Michael’s “Sophisticated Lady” had me “stuck where I stand” – no pun intended. It was refreshing to hear a 23 year old singer/songwriter bring an attractive and tasteful approach in speaking to women as well as the vocal and musical talent to back it up. When you listen in on Michael’s voice, you can hear natural shades of his influences Jon B. and Donell Jones which was interesting. In light of the current landscape of mainstream R&B, I look forward to hearing more from this new artist and sincerely hope he keeps his “sophistication” in a less that “sophisticated” market.
