Editor’s note: This podcast was originally published on March 31. Little did we know that our celebration would turn into a tribute of sorts. We wanted to post this again today in tribute to Prince and on the anniversary of “Kiss” being the #1 record in the country.
Out here on these internet streets there are Podcasts and then there are events in Podcast form. This episode of Inside The Album is clearly the latter. So pop some corn, tell a few thousand friends and pull up a chair to listen to this insightful convo from GFM’s Love Man, DJ Polished Solid and The Ricker as they discuss all things Prince from 1986 on the 30th anniversary of the release of Parade!
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
