Well I know I’ve had a blast funkin’ with the one and only George Clinton this month! We hope that it has been a fun and informative experience for everyone and we hope that if George and the Funk Mob will be appearing somewhere near you this season that you make sure to make your way out to support them. As I look at the clock on the wall I am reminded that there’s one question that we weren’t able to address this month and I would be remiss if we didn’t do that right now. Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
