Our Artist of the Month covers the lead single from The Perri Sister’s 1990 Album Tradewinds “It’s Been You”. This cover was part of the set on Anita’s 1994 project Rhythm Of Love. While Anita’s version is laid back and seizes on the songs melancholy, The Perri Sister’s version has a sense of urgency that makes the declaration a little more compelling. Two great takes, one wonderful song and that’s what this series is all about.
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
