Club Nouveau had a nice run in the late 80’s with a string of hits, “Jealousy“, “Why You Treat Me So Bad” & a cover of the Bill Withers classic, “Lean On Me“.
They released seven albums, with their debut album, Life, Love & Pain, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. All of the singles mentioned previously scored in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles charts. After the infamous departure of Denzil Foster & Thomas McElroy, the group never came close to achieving the same level of success.
