Cherrelle & Alexander O’Neal Live in Atlanta from Grown Folks Music on Vimeo.
Recently, I had the enjoyment of attending Power Entertainment’s milestone anniversary, a celebration of music entrepreneur, Leroy McMath’s 20 years in the music industry. Now when I stepped on the set, the crowd was filled with a certain anticipation. Seats by the bar were filled and everyone was making sure they got the best seats they could find before showtime. Why all the anticipation you ask?!? With her hair slightly over one eye and a fitted dress that hugged her “50 and fine” waist, the R&B voice that teasingly made you wait all week for some “Saturday Love” would soon step on stage to give a memorable show. Who am I referring to? The one and only, Cherrelle! From swaying her hips to her R&B hit, “You Look Good To Me” to strutting her walk on ” I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On”, Cherrelle showed the crowd that she hadn’t lost a beat. As the evening continued, the songstress slowed the mood singing her hit, “Everything I Miss At Home” with her partner in crime, Alexander O’Neal. To see these two reunited was something truly special. From Cherrelle’s sass and Alex’s playful charm, they were reminiscent of a seasoned couple who were intuitively in groove with each other. It was a chemistry that was effortless and beautiful to witness. Here are a few video highlights AND pics from that great show. Other notable persons in the house was Ms. “Man Down” herself, Frankie from BET’s “Frankie & Neffe”.
