Although I focus a lot on the music I am and have always been interested in words. They are powerful. I think where I got off the path with some music is that I see numerous opportunities because people have been given a platform and they are saying absolutely nothing.
This is my mood today:
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
Herbie Hancock said that he didn’t pay too much attention to lyrics until he made that Joni Mitchell tribute album.
