Make sure you head on over to www.bendohertyjazz.com to purchase this fantastic transcription of this Chris Potter Tour De Force. This recording was taken from a masterclass and quite appropriately Chris Potter puts on a clinic here: exploring so many possibilities harmonically, melodically, technically etc., You can hear the entire arrangement and rhythm section throughout and a cascading flow of new ideas chorus after chorus.
If you play take a little time and put the vid on full view and follow the score and then take some time to explore what he’s actually doing a section at a time. Amazing what tools are available to us these days for learning and often they are free. I promise, I really am going to stick to my goal of presenting more posts with Strong Saxual Content 🙂
