We’re still rockin’ with our Artist of the Month’s debut album… this is the lead single from that project and served as a great introduction to the sound of Ms. Hathaway. The tempo and production are definitely a nod to the UK Soul influence that was in vogue during the late 80’s and early 90’s. The production route was definitely apropos in the sense that “Heaven Knows” is a cover of UK Soul Singer Jaki Graham original from her 1985 album Heaven Knows
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
