#Growns please join The Love Man and DJKKC as they discuss Bobby Brown’s 1988 sophomore release Don’t Be Cruel. This conversation covers a lot of territory and at points if you close your eyes you can almost feel yourself being transported back 30 years. The mood here is not academic, it’s as real as people being on the ground, smelling the air and feeling the heat of that moment in time because these two conversationalists were literally a part of that New Jack Generation.
We truly hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Greetings, My name is Reggie Jenkins and I am a listener of your podcast. I enjoy listening to various interviews and album critiques; however, I am kind of disappointed in the ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ critique. As much as I enjoyed the ‘back down memory lane’ reflections that you and your co-host did, I feel as though you didn’t spend enough time discussing the music and the artistry regarding the album. I hope that you will receive this observation in the spirit of love that I intended to convey. Thanks!
Hi there Reggie! We certainly do receive and appreciate your observation in the spirit of love. This type of feedback helps us to keep on track as often being so close to a show we may miss how the overall arc of the program is received. Thanks again for listening and replying and please know that we take this to heart and truly and genuinely appreciate your listening.
