When you strip a production down to its raw elements and it still grooves and what’s happening musically is undeniable you are definitely onto something. Truth be told these guys sound better rehearsing on this clip with limited instrumentation than a whole lot of acts that I’ve seen who have had the benefit of full instrumentation.
There’s a lesson to be learned in all of this and it has to do with soul. If you play with soul(backed with skill) it doesn’t matter what you play on. But, if you don’t play with soul(and even worse no skill) you could have the best gear and production values in the world and it still won’t sound like anything.
