Tis the season Grown Folks!!
It’s that special time of year where we come together with family and friends to celebrate the birth of a King. Yes, we normally gravitate towards the Christmas songs of Donny Hathaway, Nat King Cole and a number of timeless classics that warm the soul but let me hip you to a new Christmas album, Christmas Best from season’s three Sunday Best winner, Le’Andria Johnson. In the pocket of tradition songs, Le’Andria brings her distinctive gospel flair to a number of quintessential Christmas melodies. While she’s notably celebrated for her raspy textured voice, in the first verse of the selection Noel, she seemingly channels the lower vocal registers of Whitney Houston unknowingly. To hear it for yourself, here is a preview of the upcoming album scheduled to hit stores Tuesday, December 6th, 2011.
