“Stardust” was originally written in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael with the lyrical adaptation from Mitchell Parish in 1930. A song that has been covered for well over 80 years instrumentally and lyrically. 80 years. Not an 8 day cycle as a free download, not 8 weeks as the new fad dance/instructional/exercise video where you put your right foot in and you shake it all about. No, 80 years. Now that’s grown.

The composer himself Hoagy Carmichael
Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
