Written by David Lasley and originally recorded in 1980 by Norman Connors featuring Adaritha, Anita Baker was able to make this song into a ballad of epic proportion. Another great instance of high musical drama and interestingly enough the studio version and the live version here featured two of my favorite saxophonists: Don Myrick(RIP) and on this clip live Gerald Albright who is also holding down the bass duties. As I have said on this blog before we need more horn solos in songs again. Enjoy!
