Written by the legendary songwriting duo of Rodgers and Hart (My Funny Valentine, Where or When, The Lady Is A Tramp and on and on and on) in 1934 and brought into the popular music charts by acts like Mel Torme, Elvis and the definitive version in 1961 by The Marcels, “Blue Moon” was part of the 1986 album entitled Under The Blue Moon. This album of tributes predated a trend of retro recordings that would come to dominate the next decade of music.
