Incredible is what I’m calling this, this is as real as it gets. UK artist Nefer Davis who takes on this classic Billie Holiday tune on his first recording project(did I say first?) firmly puts his vocal in the approach of a deftly talented musician. It’s almost most like one of those great twin tenor battles of the Basie band when Nefer and the tenor intersect on this track. Gorgeous interpretation of this music.

Ivan Orr is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and writer. A native of Charlottesville, Virginia Ivan was involved with the forming and nascent days of The Music Resource Center as its first Program Director. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Music, Ivan currently resides in Richmond, VA where he maintains an active performance and production schedule while serving as the Music Editor for Grown Folks Music, a position he has held since 2010.
