You know every now and then, you just have to get your day going with some Frank Zappa. Directly related to my earlier post about composer Zack Hemsey, Frank Zappa was an auto-didactic composer as well. Often, folks will make assumptions about musicians based on whether or not they have been formally trained. The training means absolutely nothing if the application of said training does not create a desirable output. Conversely, if you are not formally trained, that’s not an excuse for not constantly pushing yourself to know more about what you do. Like always say… the library is free and for so many tuition is getting beyond outrageous. Enjoy!
