Song of the Day/”Cover Me” Sundays: Duke Ellington/Steely Dan “‘East St. Louis Toodle-Oo”

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

No, I’m not afraid to admit that when I was younger I was not aware of the Ellington original, in fact so much so that the first time I heard Ellington’s version I was like “Hey that sounds like an older version of that Steely Dan tune.” O_o. GFM’s Strong Saxual Content – “Deacon Blues”

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

Inaugural episode of the GFM series that hopes to bring you the best in sax in its role in popular music over the last few decades. I hope you enjoy this classic that features Pete Christlieb on Tenor and to coin a phrase “They don’t write ‘em like that anymore.” Enjoy!

Steely Dan-The Making of Peg

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

The tools utilized for baking(making music) may change over time but grandma’s pound cake recipe still uses the same ingredients for the same result: a great cake. Enjoy!
