When Lalah recently performed at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, she mentioned how she has re-recorded this song a couple of times. This is the type of track that only gets better with time. The lyrics alone are so beautiful: “I’m coming back just to give you my love, There’s a part of me that lives in you. I’m coming back just to give you my love, Loving you is the best thing I can do”. GFM fave Rahsaan Patterson recently performed a concert at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. If you don’t already know, the brotha is a serious talent and always puts on a great show. A mini-tribute to one of our favorite artists period, Rachelle Ferrell. As good as these clips are, you MUST see her live to truly appreciate her voice, range, musicianship and (some say quirky) personality. Enjoy.
“Love, Need and Want You” (Jimmy Davis/Roger “Ram” Ramirez/Jimmy Sherman) and “If Only You Knew” (Kenny Gamble/Bunny Sigler) were two of the bigger hits from the I’m in Love Again, album (Philadelphia International/1983). Also peep, the stirring tribute to Patti (f/Rachelle Ferrell, Peabo Bryson, Ronald Isley and Tamia) after the jump.
