Today’s question is: “What’s the word?” well the word is when it comes to singing… Gloria Ry’ann. The reason that I make this brash statement is that we all know that their are certain unwritten rules when it comes to covering material. You know the rules that address the handful of artists that you shouldn’t attempt to cover, unless you can. Gloria can, can (Pointer Sisters reference) and with production stylings of Herb Middleton on board she does, does.

Now fam it’s up to us to do our part… this is the part where we listen and if we like, we download it and tell all our music loving friends. Then hopefully our friends do the same. Then we repeat this process and the next thing you know there’s not only movement for the artist there is a supportive movement in place period.

We were already anxiously anticipating her debut release, “Just Glow”, but having had the pleasure to finally meet her and see her perform live at the ISMS, we’re sold! I received a recommendation the other day from Stevie Robinson(ardent supporter of the indie soul movement, she makes things hapen ya’ll) that I become a fan of Gloria Ry’ann. Since I’ve come to know a lot more about the artists that Stevie reps over the last month or so, it was a no-brainer that I was going to click on the link and see what this artist is all about.
