New Music Video: Eric Roberson: “Shake Her Hand”

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

“I’ve got a girl back at home, and I can’t afford to be carrying on..a wise man once told me when you’re tempted with this…shake her hand, and walk away…”

GRAMMY-nominated singer and songwriter Eric Roberson is back again with a new music video “Shake Her Hand,” off of his 2011 album, Mister Nice Guy. The track was produced by Brandon “BJazz” Scott. In the song, Roberson shares advice on how to handle meeting temptation, when you have a special someone already. The video was shot in London, and directed by Spectrum LDN.

New Music: United Tenors: “Here In Our Praise”

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

Don’t know what motivated Fred Hammond to ask Dave Hollister, Brian Courtney Wilson and Eric Roberson to join him for an ensemble project, but thank God he did. But it’s just not enough to assemble a “supergroup” and think it will succeed on the names of the group members alone. The product must be impressive. Not only is “Here In Our Praise” impressive– it’s just about perfect. The melody, the harmony and the lyrics make this song instantly likeable and memorable. When a good song like this is released (gospel or secular), it seems so simple (although it isn’t) and makes one wonder, “Why can’t all artists do this?” So refreshing.

Jarrard Anthony – Ready To Live (Recommendation)

Friday, June 15th, 2012

The third outing from Richmond, VA based and internationally known artist Jarrad Anthony Ready To Live brings to mind all the melodic and lyrical vibrancy associated with the first wave singer-songwriter school, embodied by the likes of Taylor, Mitchell, Morrison et al.

Storytelling at its finest, Ready To Live presents characters with character and depth, all who share the common thread of forward motion no matter the obstacles that they may endure: which, even includes the space time continuum of “Never See Her Again”. Love may be at the center of it all here but make no mistake this set of music is not a “Moon, June, Spoon” ode to that emotion. No, Jarrad Anthony deals with the complexity of the emotion that more often than not is the catalyst for the creation of life both new and reborn. (more…)
