New Video: The Love Machine Project – “Love Machine”

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

Love can be a very strange thing. It can bring polarizing individuals together for a common mission that is often greater then themselves. For the case of Candice Anitra and Mustafa Effortless, the unifying force of love and music has brought together a left-of-soul songstress and a consciousness-raising emcee to create The Love Machine Project. With their blend of Tina-Turner-meets-Guru alien pop, here is their first single “Love Machine” from the cosmically created EP, The Love Machine Project scheduled for release June 4th. Tell us what you think?

A Little “Love Sick” on Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Candice Anitra moves to the beat of the funky drummer and that’s never been more evident than with her new release “Love Sick”; an urgent plea for self-love and an aggressive approach for self-respect. When she is moved, she flows and words and images attach to the parts of her brain that creates aural and visual magic for her thoughts.

“Love Sick” is not your typical song and releasing it on Valentine’s Day is typical for Anitra, as she attempts to spread the love she has developed for herself to young woman who in her words, “Find themselves in a body they don’t have an owner’s manual for”. “Love Sick” is as important as Candice Anitra is right now. She’s a voice to those that believe no one is speaking for them.

Candice Anitra releases her second album, “The Big Tree”, March 28th.

Candice Anitra “Too Much Woman” (Official Music Video) + Bling Mod (Dubstep) Remix Free Download

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

GFM fam we wanted to put you on to two great offerings from Candice Anitra. First the video…

A pacifist in pumps / Not afraid to throw a punch / Or eat your hurt feelings for lunch,” begins Candice Anitra on the female powered anthem, “Too Much Woman.” The video for the track was created by award-winning director, Vinz Feller, and award-winning animator, Biljana Labovic. In the video, featuring live actors backed by illustrated technicolor settings, Candice faces derogatory and inhibiting comments. She responds by drawing boxes around the perpetrators, effectively caging them in, as she chastises their disrespect and croons, “Nah, nah, nah boo boo / Too much for you you / Who’s stuck in a box – me or you?” The surreal illustrated backgrounds contrast with the serious subject matter and position Candice as a confident woman who will not let others confine nor define her, true to her vision as a person and artist. ‘The Big Tree’ will be available in Jan 2012. Check out the remix which is available as a free download after the break. (more…)
