Concert Alert: Ladies of Jazz Featuring Esperanza Spalding & Terri Lyne Carrington – October 19th!!

On my last music voyage, I reported straight from the JAZZ ROOTS inaugural concert featuring Ramsey Lewis and Al Jarreau! If you’re a true music fan and you missed this event, your head should be shaking in shame for not attending this affair.  However, you still have a chance to redeem yourself from the magnitude of your transgression.

My friend, mark your calendar for a show filled with music clothed with a woman’s touch. On Friday, October 19th the JAZZ ROOTS concert series, will celebrate the “Ladies of Jazzat the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Headlining the stage will be bassist, vocalist and Grammy Award winner, Esperanza Spalding along with fellow jazz drummer, composer, record producer and Grammy winner, Terri Lyne Carrington.

This will be an unforgettable night all in tribute of the ladies that have greatly contributed to the art of jazz! If you hadn’t purchased your tickets, be sure to check out Ticketmaster for this upcoming event! In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek video of what you can expect!

From stylish pumps accentuating the ideal dress to tailored suits matched with the meticulous tie, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre was filled with music enthusiasts ready for a night of great music. Created by executive producer and music industry entrepreneur, Larry Rosen, the inaugural show of JAZZ ROOTS was off to a good start as they proudly presented world-class musicians, Ramsey Lewis and Al Jarreau. Hola my fellow concert –goers!!!

I got some exciting news for my GFM family in Atlanta!!

The voice that stirred your heart in songs like Mornin’, We’re In This Love Together, Moonlighting and so much more will be at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre Friday, September 21st!! That is correct, my friends, 7 time Grammy Award winning vocalist, Al Jarreau will be scattin’ in the house along with fellow jazz legend, pianist, composer and multiple Grammy awardee, Ramsey Lewis, known respectfully as “the great performer” and soulful classics like The In Crowd.

This “GROWN” affair will set the inaugural concert succession, JAZZ ROOTS: A Larry Rosen Jazz Series, in full gear and give real music lovers, young and seasoned, an opportunity to celebrate and learn our musical heritage.
