Whitney was known for her stirring power ballads, but this is one of my favorites from the uptempo portion of her catalog. “So Emotional” finds Whitney fighting a growing attraction as she sings,

I love the flirty, playful vibe of the song. You can truly see Whitney’s joy in this “in concert” video. The song caught on with audiences and reached #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance Charts.

I am loving your song picks for Whitney. What amazed me about her is the ease with which she could sing ballads with such great emotional expressiveness, and then move seamlessly to an uptempo song.
