GFM fam we wanted to get you in the know about a fantastic project with a purpose. The Love Machine Project, a duo consisting of soul singer Candice Anitra and rapper/actor Mustafa “Effortless” Shakir, recently debuted their EP The Love Machine featuring the latest single “Earth.” “Earth” is a heartfelt tribute that serves as both a plea for our planet and a reminder on the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.
The EP features production from Joel Hamilton (Pretty Lights, Black Keys, Matisyahu, Dub Trio), bassist Brady Watt (Talib Kweli, Res, Curren$y), guitarist Wes Mingus (Wu-Tang Clan, The Revelations), and drummer Jason Mills (Stomp, Beetroot). Candice Anitra has been praised by Yahoo Music and Meshell Ndeogeocello and Rolling Stone calls Mustafa “holistically sound hip hop.” As an actor he recently appeared in the short sci-fi love film Record/Play which won over 6 awards at various film festivals and was the official selection at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival while being spotlighted in the New York Times and Hollywood Reporter.
