Grown Folks Music had the opportunity to attend a listening party hosted by Moods Music for artist and producer Mark de Clive Lowe. The event was hosted by Atlanta’s own DJ Kemit. If this is your first time hearing of Mark, he is originally from New Zealand. Mark credits his father with nurturing his love of music. Interestingly, one of his first and biggest musical influences was hearing Guy’s debut album in 1989 or 1990. Mark is known for his remixes such as his take on Shirley Horn’s “Return to Paradise”.

When asked about the current music industry, Mark believes that some of the new music lacks substance because a lot of the new music does not honor the past. Mark also notes the importance of not being motivated by money when an artist is making music. Mark currently resides in Los Angeles.
